Our senior management team includes some of the most talented and experienced individuals in the life insurance industry. While our company is young, our management team is composed of a group of seasoned veterans with significant experience in life insurance sales and distribution.
John Haver - Chief Distribution Officer
John Haver joined Futurity First in August 2015 as Chief Distribution Officer. Futurity First is an independent, nationwide insurance distribution organization specializing in retirement income and insurance protection solutions. In his role, John is focused on guiding Futurity First’s strategic direction and positioning the company as a true business partner with career agents.
Prior to joining Futurity First, John was Sr. Vice President, Individual Producer Sales at Mutual of Omaha where he directed all sales activities for the company’s brokerage and agency distribution. John spent 18 years in a variety of leadership positions at Mutual of Omaha where he had the opportunity to build a career distribution model and work with agents on a daily basis to help them grow their business.
John received his B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and his J.D. from Creighton University. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the American College. He’s a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), the Nebraska State Bar Association and the General Agent and Managers Association (GAMA). He also holds his series 6, 63 and 26 licenses.
Greg Garner - Vice President National Sales
Greg Garner joined Futurity First in February of 2017 as Vice President National Sales Manager. His focus will be recruiting, training, and sales development. With 28 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, he has held various positions from Agent to Vice President with a Fortune 500 company. He is licensed in life, health, property and casualty and holds a series 6, 63, and 26 securities license. He earned an LUTCF designation from American College and is an active member of GAMA and NAIFA. Greg graduated from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Marketing. Greg and his wife, April, have three children and live in the Atlanta, GA area.
Curtis Carey - Sales Vice President
Curtis has 18+ years experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Futurity First, Curtis was a regional director at Bankers Life and Casualty Company, where he oversaw a region of branch offices in the Northwest while managing a branch office that averaged 20% annual growth rate during his 10 full years at the helm. He also served as the Field Chairman of the Compliance Committee, and was the field representative on Conseco’s Compliance Committee.
Jon Estrellado - Vice President, Distribution Finance
Jon has over 25 years of experience creating, building and implementing units and businesses within the financial services industry. As Vice President of Distribution Finance, Jon is responsible for Futurity First’s field compensation.
He joined the company during its start-up phase in February 2008. With a yellow pad in hand he led the design and implementation of field compensation including building the commission system, licensing and appointments process, and assisted in recruiting Futurity’s first Managing Directors and advisors to the company.
Before joining Futurity, Jon was at MassMutual for 15 years in various field financial and marketing roles working with its General Agents in the Career Agency System. He previously served as National Marketing Director for Fee-Based Financial Planning at MML Investors Services, Inc. During this time he led the creation and launch of MassMutual’s fee-based financial planning services business line.
He also served as Director of Strategic Alliances at Sagemark Consulting / Lincoln Financial Advisors in Hartford for several years.
Jon is a graduate of Eastern Washington University’s School of Business with a degree in Finance and Economics.
Kevin Hedstrom - Assistant Vice President, Sales Support
Kevin has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. Kevin has broad experience in relationship management, point of sale, and business development. His passion is assisting the independent agent as well as registered advisor take their practices to the next level. Utilizing a consultative approach, he has been able to assist producers through coaching, training, and mentoring on retirement security solutions, legacy concerns, and tax avoidance strategies for both the pre-retiree and retiree markets. Kevin works closely with producers and producer groups on identifying opportunities, case design, and implementation ultimately enhancing their life and annuity profit centers. In successfully leading startup, growth, and turnaround operations, he has grown territories and business lines with each firm he has been affiliated with. Prior to joining Futurity First, Kevin served as Supervisor of Internal Sales at Aviva Life and Annuity / Annexus Financial, LLC.
